What our clients say
Ice Blast Air Conditioning installed three new split air conditioners in our business premises. The whole procedure was immaculate, starting with experienced and friendly Charles who thoroughly checked the situation onsite, and who then provided the quotes - very competitively priced. Their technicians Lachlan and Zack installed the three Daikin units and upgraded the circuits in our premises to ensure smooth functioning and safety. I am also grateful for their fast turn-around. All in all a truly delightful experience.
Dietrich Lasa
Great technicians, great work and solved the problem! Highly recommend.

Ice Blast Loganholme were easy to deal with. They were the third firm I had dealt with and they gave us correct information. What was important in our case was that the town house where it was to be installed in Brisbane had a wiring/meter box configuration such that a bigger air conditioner ought not be installed. Ice Blast checked this out and discussed it with us over the phone, and we then decided on the correct kw rated unit. (That is, it was not simply decided on a floor area basis). The air conditioner was installed by Ice Blast, a friendly family run business, in a timely and professional manner and I was pleased with their service.

Short answer: Unfortunately not
Apart from changing a light globe, there is very little that is safe and legal for anyone other than a fully qualified electrician to do around the home.
Anything related to new installations, wiring/rewiring, power points, new lighting, etc. must be left to the professionals. This is not only required by law, but designed to protect you and your family.
Even if you can carry out electrical work, unless you are a fully qualified electrician, the work won’t pass relevant certification. This becomes a problem if ever inspected and/or when you try and sell the property. This could result in expensive rectification works and/or heavy fines.
Don’t risk the safety of yourself, your family, pets, friends, and any visitors to the home. Call on an experienced and fully qualified electrician for any electrical jobs around the house.
Safety switches are important and have been proven to save lives. With a normal power circuit, electrical current flows through an appliance and returns via a neutral wire. If the circuit is damaged or faulty in any way, electricity can leak down to earth via a person. This means electrical shock to the person touching the appliance, which can cause serious injury or even death.
Safety switches are designed to detect the loss of electricity from a circuit and almost instantly cut the power. A safety switch can cut the supply of electricity in as little as 0.003 seconds (30 milliseconds). This response is faster than a critical section of the human heartbeat, meaning that it protects a person from electrical shock and serious electrocution.
Safety switches are compulsory in Queensland and have been in new homes since the early 1990’s. Also required by law on light and power circuits in new homes in most states and territories around Australia since 2000.
Sadly, over 15 Aussies are killed annually by household electricity. Most of these fatalities could have been prevented if a safety switch was installed. As a result, Ice Blast recommends installing safety switches on ALL electrical circuits in your home. What price would you put on you and your family’s safety?
From 1 January 2022, smoke alarms in the dwelling must:
- Be photoelectric (AS 3786-2014); and
- Not also contain an ionisation sensor; and
- Be less than 10 years old; and
- Operate when tested; and
- Be interconnected with every other smoke alarm in the dwelling so all activate together.
Smoke alarms must be installed on each storey:
- In each bedroom; and
- In hallways which connect bedrooms and the rest of the dwelling; or
- If there is no hallway, between the bedrooms and other parts of the storey; and
- If there are no bedrooms on a storey at least one smoke alarm must be installed in the most likely path of travel to exit the dwelling.
Smoke alarms must be hardwired or powered by a non-removable 10-year battery, or a combination of both may be allowed. Why not ask for a free assessment and quote today? Beat the rush!
